5 Friends, 1 Aim

Help a Buddy is a student led project started by 5 students (Anselm Xavier, Kate Wattanavekin, Lucas Stevens, Sean Yeoh, and Ton Kiangsiri) from Bangkok Patana School aspiring to make a difference, big or small, to the local homeless community. Like many other major cities, Bangkok is not prone from the problem of homelessness, yet many people tend to turn a blind eye towards it. Bangkok is a city that contains both extremities of the society, from the wealthiest people in Thailand to some of the poorest slums, so as a result, we want to provide aid to those who are usually overlooked. We believe that everyone, despite their standard of living, deserves the rights to basic human necessities.

In this project, we aim to raise awareness about the issue of the large population of homeless people within Bangkok- this is crucial to our cause because we want to give the homeless in Bangkok a voice and a medium to communicate to society about their stories and their struggles. However, our overall focus is to support the homeless in as many ways as we can and to show people that even a small thought can become something truly great. Helping others is not something we choose to do, it is something we must do.
